Until now, the methods for the measurement of acoustic signals were time consuming and expensive. For that reason, it was desired to develop a procedure that yields precise results that is much quicker and easy to handle at the same time. By the expansion of a classical probe measurement system with a digital camera and a tailor made software application developed in LabVIEW, a measurement system was created which makes the time consuming preparation tasks necessary for the common methods obsolete and accelerates the measurement itself considerably.

In mobile measurements the Intensity Inspector yields convincing results indoors as well as outdoors. The trend-setting system is applicable to many areas such as machine and plant engineering, and automotive or agricultural machinery. The procedure enables the input of the current measurement position by means of a simple click of the mouse.
